Everyone in the congregation found something they could contribute and worked together to create it.
I hope that all delegates will have wonderful memories during their stay in Japan!

Japanese patterned tie
I wanted to make something out of scraps of Kimono fabric, and came up with the idea of a bow tie. As I looked at various Japanese patterns, I learned that each pattern has a meaning.
Patterns filled with the thoughts of our ancestors include “Hemp Leaves”, which represent the hope of children’s growth, “Arrow Mochi”,which represent the achievement of goals, and “Blue Ocean Waves”,which represent the hope of peace like gentle waves that continue forever, and are also depicted on Japanese architecture and pottery.

“Sashiko” (traditional Japanese hand embroidery)
Many sisters sewed these with love and care.
”Sashiko” is a traditional Japanese handicraft technique in which patterns are stitched onto fabric with thead.
It is said to have originated from a culture that values clothes, and is still widely used for small items today.
